Once the walls and floor are both totally ready for tile I would begin on the walls. Here is why. Installing tile can be messy (depending upon your skill with a trowel). Getting the vertical tile installed first with an unfinished floor will leave a mess on the floor that will be easy to clean. Setting the floor tile and then installing the wall tile could leave a tremendous mess on your new tile floor. So run the wall tiles down to the floor. Or if you plan to use a row of mop base tile along the bottom of your walls, make certain to use a floor tile as a spacer to leave room to slide the floor tile under the mop base.
